UDI: Envisioning the city of the future

Founded in 1987, the Urban development institute of Quebec is an independent non-profit organization. UDI is Quebec’s largest commercial real estate representative. We partner with industry members, government authorities, and all stakeholders in the commercial real estate ecosystem.

UDI brings together large institutional owners, major real estate developers and managers, as well as industry professionals and businesses in related sectors.

Our members advance an inspiring vision of THRIVING CITIES, mainly in the greater Québec and Montréal areas, which is centred on the concept of urban intensification.

UDI is pursuing five key objectives :

  • Help develop THRIVING CITIES by supporting the industry’s competitiveness and growth

  • Promote the development of healthy, active spaces where personal wellbeing coexists with the economic and social advancement of communities

  • Support members and provide them with information in the ongoing process of training and improving best practices

  • Act as the industry’s key intermediary with citizens, groups interested in urban renewal and public authorities

  • Create opportunities for dialogue and business interactions for our members.

Mission

UDI’s mission is to help cities thrive through reflection, cooperation, and a strong relationship between the real estate industry and its ecosystem, thus facilitating the development of structuring, responsible real estate projects that shape the urban landscapes of tomorrow.
